John is an award-winning storyteller/writer and the current Story Laureate of the Yukon. He was raised in Dawson City, with the Klondike Gold Rush and the Tro'chek Fish camp as his backyard and now lives in Whitehorse. He has written seven books on Yukon history and co-written five others. His current book, North Star: The Legacy of Jean-Marie Mouchet is a finalist in the non-fiction category of the 2025 Canadian Book Club Awards.

HOST - Opening Night
Our opening event will feature Richard Van Camp with a short teaser reading and Bria Rose with her guitar, playing tunes and talking about her songwriting process. The evening will be hosted by John Firth, Yukon’s Story Laureate. We’ll have a cash bar and offer light appetizers.
